“The Road” by Nick Cave & Warren Ellis

I drove through some of the heaviest and thickest patches of fog I’ve ever seen last night and this song came on the radio. I didn’t know it was from the film, The Road but it felt like I was driving through some desolate landscape. The headlights of the cars behind me just faded into the darkness of the night. The fog was so thick that I couldn’t see the cars on the other side of the freeway. I drove by memory and assumption; I had to assume that the freeway was going to turn there and my exit would be there.

The fog finally lifted and the DJ began to play something a little more upbeat.
