Skeet On Mischa
The Skeetonomics of the Mika Miko show @ OC Performing Arts Center

Dean from No Age filled in for Kate Hall on drums tonight. Given, this was only the second time I’ve seen Mika Miko live, so I can’t say if they played faster or smoother or tighter than usual. Dean did stand up during “Jogging Song” in case you were wondering.
I asked and got a copy of the set list like a total geek as well a Mika Miko shirt.I may wear said shirt to the Getty Center simply because I’m really excited to have a Mika Miko t-shirt.
There was a mosh pitt. There were a couple of jocks in the mix. It was kind of fun.
At times before the show started, I felt as if I was at Chain Reaction. There were a lot of teens. I mean, school just got out, so it makes sense.
I jumped up and down a lot and may have injured somebody or there’s a lot of photos of that.
There was heckling/song requests: the standards: “Attitude.” No Age tunes since Dean was there. I yelled “Small Breed” but I didn’t not, I repeat did not say they sucked. I like their one song a lot; it’s #22 on my iTunes 25 most played
There was a brief discussion of No Age being on MTV on Friday night.
I had two workouts within the span of a few hours. First, jogging before the show, then the show its self.
Fairly rowdy crowd, but it was a weird bill. Mika Miko and Yacht. I left as soon as Mika Miko broke down their gear.
There was a fake out moment when we, being the audience thought that Kate Hall was walking through the place.

I could see how the band may have not thought it was a good show since their regular drummer wasn’t there and all, but still it was a lot of fun. Personally, I haven’t had this much fun at a show in maybe a few years. I want to say since I saw the Blood Brothers (Oh how I miss those guys) oddly enough at Chain Reaction when they’re just testing out stuff from “Crimes.”
If Mika Miko ever comes to your neck of the woods, I would say check it out. It’s a lot of fun!
