“It’s In Our Hands” (Soft Pink Truth) by Bjork
It’s election day. It’s in our hands to make a great change. It’s not in the bag. In fact, it won’t be in the bag until Januarh 20th, 2009. So get out there and vote. It doesn’t matter if the lines are long, it’ll be worth the wait. I told a woman on the phone on Monday that we’re reaching the end of a great movie. A movie that has been played out 20 months or so and it was up to her to help give this movie the best ending of all time. So, do your part; vote. Remind your friends and family to go out there and vote. Wait in line and if there’s an old person waiting in back, maybe let them cut ahead because they’re old and what not. If your friend is stuck in a line and wants to leave, tell them that you’ll bring some coffee and a sandwich or an apple frieter and wait with them. Give rides if you have to. It’s in our hands, ladies and gentlemen, it’s in our hands.
And remember what happened on “The Simpsons,” everybody thought Bart had it in the bag because Bart was a cool guy, but Martin won cause there was that one lone vote. And be mindful of what’s happening at your polling place, if you suspect any wrong doing, notifiy your local registar of voters.
And most important of all, if you’re in California and this goes without saying, vote NO on Prop 8. Discrimination should not be a law.
